– HERE IS WHY STRETCHING IS IMPORTANT –
We all know that it doesn´t feel like magic, but you need to do it, it keeps your muscle flexibile, keep you healthy, remember you need that flexibility to mantain a good range of motion. You need to take some time from work and at least two times each day, simple things like sitting all day in your work chair could tight your hamstrigs and damage your back.
– PROPER STEPS –
We leave you here some techniques or ideas for a proper stretching.
- Warm up, have in mind that if you stretch cold the risk of pulled muscles is higher.
- Always hold each stretch more than 20 seconds and repeat the stretches 3 or 4 times.
- Relax and breathe properly it will help you to relax your mind and muscles.
– NOW OUR TOP MUSCLES TO STRECH-
Hamstrimg: stand in front of a support between knee and hip height. Extend your right leg and place it on the support, with the foot relaxed. You should be at a distance that allows the left leg to be perpendicular to the floor and now hinge forward from the hips. Feel the stretch along the back of the thigh.
Lower back: Begin on all fours, hands under shoulders, knees under hips, head in line with spine. First, extend the spine by arching the back gently, opening the chest, lifting the head and tilting the hip bones backwards. Pause, then go back through the start position into a rounded position, opening the back of the shoulders.
Quads: Lie in a face-down position, propping your head on your left hand. Alternatively, you can lie on your side to perform this stretch. Pull your right foot toward your butt and bend your left knee to stabilize yourself. Switch sides, pulling your left foot toward your back and bending your right knee.
Shoulders: Start on all fours with your hands under your shoulders and hips over your knees. Reach your right arm underneath and across your body with your palm facing up. Bend your left elbow as you gently lean into your right side; you should feel a stretch in the back of your right shoulder.
